Wolverine Baseball Tryouts

Prospective Wolverine Baseball Players
The Aliso Niguel baseball program will be holding tryouts for the 2011 baseball season on:
Saturday, September 18th, 2010 from 9:00 - 12:00.
Saturday, Septemeber 25th, 2010 from 9:00 - 12:00.
All players that wish to tryout will need to turn-in a completed physical packet to Mike Middlebrook, Athletic Director, before the first tryout.  Mr. Middlebrook will give you a clearance slip and that slip needs to be brought to Coach Hanson for pre-registration.  All players must attend the 9/18 tryout - no exceptions.  After that tryout, the coaching staff will post a list of all players that will need to return for the 9/25 tryout.

2011 NFHS Baseball Rule Changes

Baseball Rules Change Puts Moratorium on Composite Bats


INDIANAPOLIS, IN (July 9, 2010) — One of six new rules changes by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Baseball Rules Committee forbids the use of composite bats until they can meet the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard. The changes, which were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors, will take effect with the 2010-11 school year.

All-time O.C. high school baseball team

Orange County high school baseball has produced hundreds of major-league baseball players over the years.

There are about 20 in the big leagues, or on the cusp of making it, right now, with more to come.

The county has produced three Hall of Fame players: right-hander Walter Johnson and shortstop Arky Vaughan, both from Fullerton High back in the day, and more recently catcher Gary Carter from Sunny Hills, Class of 1972.
